Several VIVOTEK Cameras are able to transmit two-megapixel video at 30 fps rate with H.264 compression, while conventional
megapixel cameras generally only achieve 10 to 15 fps due to hardware limitations. The ability to view and record footage at a full
frame rate enables much more effective surveillance.
Compatible with the HDTV (16:9) standard, the Full HD camera provides surveillance coverage for an area up to six times larger
than possible with a VGA camera, significantly reducing the number of cameras required. The Full HD camera is especially well
suited to monitoring broad spaces such as building entrances, airport terminals, and parking lots. In addition, it is excellent for
applications requiring accurate recognition, such as the identification of people or license plate numbers.

IP surveillance relies on video compression to reduce requirements for transmission bandwidth and storage space. The main
stream compression standards widely used in network cameras are MJPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264. MJPEG is the most popular
compression standard for still images. MPEG-4, on the other hand, finds the differences from a reference key frame, leaves out
redundant information and compresses only frame-to-frame differences, thus significantly reduces the file size and bandwidth
usage. Similar to MPEG-4, H.264 provides a more efficient method of compression with more precise motion search and
prediction. Though H.264 requires more powerful CPU capability, it has a higher compression ratio than MPEG-4. VIVOTEK
network cameras currently provide all above triple-codec compression, allowing user to choose for various applications.

When shooting in high contrast, backlight, glare and light reflection environments such as the entrance, ATM or the window side,
the subject will appear dark and unrecognizable. WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology can ensure an identifiable image of the
subject under such conditions by appropriately exposing the entire scene, both the darkest and brightest parts. VIVOTEK s WDR
technology including WDR Pro and WDR Enhanced enables the cameras to cope with challenging light conditions.
The advanced P-Iris lens controls the iris opening with extreme precision at an optimal level at all times via the built-in stepper motor,
resulting in superior sharpness and depth of field as well as image quality.
The key components of VIVOTEK Smart Focus System include Focus Assist Button and Remote Focus. To make installation and
adjustment easier, VIVOTEK adopts lenses with built-in stepping motors that the installer can use to remotely control the focal
length and focus. The Focus Assist Button can aid an installer to precisely adjust the camera focus. When pressing the Focus
Assist button on the camera unit, an indicator will be displayed on screen with detailed focusing information, which will vary in
accordance with the manual adjustment. Moreover, holding down the button will zoom in on the target area for fine tuning, resulting
in better usability and picture clarity. In addition, by utilizing the included stepping-motor lens with Remote Focus functionality, a
user can also easily zoom in on a target area and make adjustments from a remote site, offering more flexible, hassle-free
installation and maintenance.
